Related Series

    The following titles are those that are related to the popular horror series of DEADWORLD, yet were also designed to stand on their own as individual titles.

Roadkill

This issue features illustrations from Dave Dorman that stars the character Hitch. Dorman also provides a fully painted cover for this story written by noted author Del Stone Jr. Stone has written dozens of horror and science fiction short stories for the top anthologies in those lines including "Amazing Stories", "Full spectrum", and "forbidden Lines". He is also winner of awards including one from Omni. In comics, he is best known for his work on Marvel’s Hellraiser series.

Roadkill features Stone’s taunt and tingling tale of a new breed of zombies being created by a doctor who has discovered a method of making zombies eat the undead instead of the living. While this twisted cannibalism would seem to be advantageous to the humans, they discover that the formula will only work on living being s who them must be killed to carry out the plan. Hitch, one of the few intelligent zombies, recognizes the potential effect that this scheme could create on the armies of the undead and forms an uneasy alliance with the humans who are targeting to combat the experimental doctor to guarantee their own survival. Two races, both struggling for dominance over the other, join forces against the evil plan with threatens both of their existences.

Necropolis

If you though living in New York was bad now, what happens when the dead take over?

Writer/artist Mitch Waxman delivers a compelling story of the dead taking over the Big Apple...New York! Unfolding at the dawn of the dead arising, Mitch chronicles his story as he slips into Deadworld reality. Yes, it’s back to the very beginning and told from the perspective of a survivor, one of the few survivors.

Waxman, who gained kudos for his Vengeance of the Aztecs series, had one of his comics labeled by the LA Reader, as one of the finest examples of graphic story telling in comics today (Cortez). This issue features a cover from fan favorite Joe Lisner!

The Direwolves

A full 64 pages of non-stop action featuring death and destruction from the past! As the plague of death takes manifest over the earth, the supernatural force brings back all that died before. Now, usually, this only affects the recently deceased but from the ground that swallowed them...from the tar pits that suffocated them...from ages long though lost, the dead arise again. And this time, they include such creatures as the Wooly Mastodons, the Saber-Tooth tiger, and other creatures long extinct. Charles Yates pulls out all the stops from cover to cover as a group of survivors who thought themselves safe in the wilderness, now must confront the beast who cannot be stopped by death alone.

Killer and the King

A graphic novel collecting all of the Dead-Killer’s appearance prior to becoming a focal character in the regular series of Deadworld. The Dead-Killer has become the most popular character in the Deadworld mythos, perhaps even supplanting the lovable King Zombie. This collection includes the Dead-Killer one shot which introduced the character and his first confrontation with King Zombie and the consequences thereof. Also, included here is the short story which introduced Katherine and the tragic role that Dead-Killer played in her decision about bringing new life into this world. the entire three issue series of To Kill a King is included and covers the events that transpired at a carnival where the Dead-Killer managed to kill King Zombie! Also, the first incarnation of Tattoo appeared here.  Written by Gary Reed and illustrated by Batman’s Ron McCain.

Realm of the Dead

Deadworld and Realm together!

With the devastation of Daemonstorm causing such destruction and death, the oracles form the Deadworld have sensed the great outcry from the anguished souls and seek to have the inhabitants of the Realm added to their collection! Meanwhile, the great menace known as Terroreck has risen again to claim the dead who walk the Realm and he has Thoragg and Vespacious with him. As the intelligent zombies and Terroreck decide to join forces to turn the living into the undead on the planet, the former allies of Terroreck, the Night Creatures are all that stand between them for the survival of the Realm. This graphic novel features Deadworld favorites, the Grakkens, as well as appearances of the Demon Lords and of course, King Zombie himself. King Zombie

The nasty guy gets his own comic!

Plague

Kevin Thomas (Cinderella on Fire and Neverland) delivers a powerful and poignant tale set in the Deadworld universe as Joseph Bishop struggles to find his redemption as the "plague of death" is unleashed on the world. He searches to find his dead wife who succumbed to death as a result of the AIDS virus, that he infected her with. Incapable of understanding why it was she and not him that death claimed, he welcomes this second plague to bring his true love back to him. 48 pages.
